内容简介
聪明、凶残的白鲸莫比·迪克，经常在海上兴风作浪，夺去了无数捕鲸人的生命。艾哈贝船长也在一次捕鲸中被莫比·迪克咬掉了一条腿，从此发誓一定要报仇雪恨。
为了复仇，艾哈贝船长变得独断专行。几经辗转，艾哈贝终于与莫比·迪克遭遇。经过三天追踪，最后他用鱼叉击中白鲸，但船被白鲸撞破，除一位水手得救外，全船其他人全部遇难。
作者简介
作者赫尔曼·梅尔维尔（1819—1893），美国作家。代表作《白鲸》（1851）被认为是美国最伟大的小说之一，它讲述了捕鲸船船长艾哈伯驾船在大洋里追捕一头代表邪恶的大白鲸莫比·狄克，并最终与之同归于尽的故事。这部内涵丰富深邃的巨著揭示了人类精神上的失败和胜利的不可臆测。其他作品还有小说《泰比》《玛地》等。
