内容简介
1863年5月24日，黎登布洛克教授在一本古老的书籍里偶然发现一张羊皮纸，他从这张羊皮纸上的字里行间得到了启示：前人阿尔纳·萨科努塞姆曾到地心旅行。黎登布洛克教授决定也作同样的旅行。他在1863年5月27日带了侄子阿克赛以及足够的粮食、仪器和武器等，由汉堡出发，到了冰岛又请一位向导汉斯随行。
他们三人按照前人的指行，由冰岛的斯奈菲尔火山口下降，经过三个月的旅行，历尽缺水、迷路、暴风雨等艰难险阻，最后由于岩流的冲击，又从地中海里面西西里北部的斯多伦波利岛上的一个火山口回到了地面。全书以紧凑的笔法记载了旅途上的艰险经历和地下的种种奇观。通过这部小说，读者可以学习坚韧不拔的刚强意志，获得丰富的科学知识。
作者简介
作者儒勒·凡尔纳，法国科幻小说的奠基人，被公认为现代科幻小说之父。1863年，凡尔纳开始发表科学幻想冒险小说，他的代表作为三部曲：《格兰特船长的儿女》《海底两万里》和《神秘岛》。凡尔纳的科学幻想内容写得那么详细准确，头头是道，以致许多学术团体推算他书中列出的数字，有时要用几个星期的时间。因此，他的小说具有一定的科学性，许多科幻现象后来都成为了现实。
