该书以汉英对照的方式出版，其中英文部分由英文母语专家亲自审定，并对中文部分的生僻字词做了注音和解释，更方便参考学习。
本书由许渊冲亲自编纂翻译，挑选了唐代著名诗人李商隐的76首代表作并将其翻译成英文，通过双语阅读的形式，加深对李商隐诗词的理解，在英语的语境中体会李商隐诗词的国际化表达。
作者简介
作者李商隐（约813—约858），字义山，号玉溪（谿）生，又号樊南生，晚唐著名诗人，和杜牧合称“小李杜”，与温庭筠合称为“温李”。李商隐又与李贺、李白合称“三李”。与温庭筠合称为“温李”，因诗文与同时期的段成式、温庭筠风格相近，且三人都在家族里排行第十六，故并称为“三十六体”。
