文化是国家的根基，本书试图用比较的方式来展现传统的中西方民俗。一方面，国内读者可以从各方面深入了解西方民俗，同时，在中国与其他国家交流日益频繁的前提下，本书能够使西方读者更好地理解中国传统民俗，从而为中西方文化的交流提供便利。
作者简介
作者张立玉，中南民族大学外语学院院长，教授，硕士生导师, 湖北省、武汉市翻译协会副会长, 中国少数民族典籍翻译协作组副组长。毕业于华中师范大学外语学院英语系，英语语言文学硕士。曾赴英国伯明翰大学和美国威斯康辛大学学习和学术交流。主要研究方向：英汉语言对比，典籍翻译和ESP。先后主持和承担了国家、教育部、湖北省和校级项目20余项，著书5部，发表论文30余篇,主编商务英语规划教材7部。
