《爱的教育（英文版）》为日记体，记载了一个名叫安利科的四年级小男孩在都灵一所学校中度过的九个月的生活。全书没有波澜曲折的情节，而是通过这个男孩的眼睛讲述了日常生活的方方面面，以及发生在学校和家庭中的许多小事，然而在这些小事中却洋溢着丰富的童趣，生动感人，并充满了小主人公对祖国、对家乡、对人民、对父母、对师长同学以及周围所有人的深深的爱与尊重。
作者简介
亚米契斯（1846－1908），意大利作家。早年曾就读于都灵文法学校，后转入军事学校，毕业后参军，于1866、1868年参加了库斯托扎战役，以自己从军的经历写成《意大利军人素描》，一炮而红，此后以写作谋生。
亚米契斯广泛游历，写作了《西班牙》、《荷兰》、《摩洛哥》、《伊斯坦布尔》等游记。1886年，亚米契斯发表了平生最著名的小说《爱的教育》（原名《一个男孩的心》），至今仍在读者中享有盛誉。此外，他还写作了许多诗歌、短篇小说及儿童故事。
